One of the first concepts you need to understand when planning an
Exchange Server 2007 deployment (even in a lab) is what the server roles
are and when to use them. The server roles in Exchange 2007 are:
- Mailbox Server
- Client Access Server
- Hub Transport Server
- Edge Transport Server
- Unified Messaging Server
In this tutorial, I provide a closer look at each of these server
roles and explain its significance in an Exchange Server 2007 design and
infrastructure.
